The mosque is situated inside the historic city walls close to the Gate of Qinnasrin.[1] It is situated in the quarter Sāḥat Bizzā[2], a name that refers to al-bizz, a fabric said to have been sold there.[3]
The northern façade of the mosque faces the Raghib Agha street[4] and the Western façade overlooks the Harat ad-Diri.[5] On the southern and eastern façade, the mosque is surrounded by urban fabric, which was added later to the building.[6] The northern façade, with the only active portal, is the main façade today (Fig. 3).
