Inscription(s): Bilingual Greek and Arabic inscription on the lunette above the main door in the W elevation:
Translation: “At the expense of the Greek monastery located in Jerusalem, the Noble, this noble temple, a church for al-Khadhr, upon him be peace, was built, year 1885 Christian (era)” (Augustonivić 1972, edited by RS). A more specific date is given by in the Greek inscription which runs on the curved upper and on the horizontal frame of the lunette. On the upper frame “Ἁγ(ὶα) Δαπάνη τοῦ Παναγίου Τάφος” “Holy Endowment The Sepulchre of the All-Holiest”- On the lower frame (from right to left): “7 Αὐγούστου 1885” - “7th of August 1885.”
