Plan: Broad rectangular, with centralized door flanked by two windows in the N wall and, in axis to it, miḥrāb in S wall. The interior is divided by two piers in two naves running parallel to the qibla wall. Corresponding to corner and wall pilasters these piers carry six cross vaults, three in each nave.
Measurements: 110 m2, capacity for 150 individuals.
Exterior: 15.55-15.78 m (N-S) x 10.69-0.78 m (E-W)
Interior: 13.15-13.38 m (N-S) x 8.60-8.55m (E-W), all
measures by Khateb 2020.
Building Materials: local limestone.
Construction details: The E and W nave have been enlarged by inserted mezzanines used for women prayer.
Preservation: Intact and used for Muslim prayer.
Inscription(s): Arabic renovation inscription in a blind arch above the northern entrance dated to H 1362.
Date(s): The plan points to the Ayyubid-Mamluk period in origin (“Rēmūn-Type”), last renovation 1941.
Traveler Reports: “Bei jeder der beiden Moscheen findet man die Häfte eines römischen Meilensteines der Straße Pella - Gerasa” (Mittmann 1970).
