Preservation: extensive ruin, partly constructed of massive blocks in header-and-stretcher bondage (fig. 51.1). The old maqām has been reorganized as a modern pilgrimage center by the construction of a new mosque. Inscription(s): A recent inscription at the new mosque commemorates the establishment of the new pilgrimage center.

Date(s): The new complex has been dedicated to the public in H 1430 / AD 2014. The ancient remains on the compound certainly going back to pre-Islamic times (De Vaux 1938).
