Building Materials: local limestone.

Construction details: partly well-dressed blocks, probably of pre-Islamic origin.

Preservation: The mosque is located on a terrace uphill from the spring Umm Jāwzah. The building has been recently destroyed for using the land for agricultural purposes. At the location several limestone blocks are found scattered, some of them of careful workmanship.

Inscription(s): According to local inhabitants, there was an inscription associated with the mosque. Nat photographed this stone several years ago before it disappeared. According to NAt, the reading is as follows:

 

Translation: “There is no God than Allāh and Muḥammed is his prophet. This blessed mosque was constructed by the poor servant of Allāh […………] in the date of (the month of [……] Sha‘bān (of the year) fifty seven (and) [……………]”.
